इसलिए आज के समय में लोग आज भी इस दिन उपवास मानते हैं कि वे विष्णु द्वारा शांति, समृद्धि और खुशी का आशीर्वाद लेंगे। इस व्रत की कथा ब्रह्मा द्वारा नारद को सुनाई गई है।
